For our learning pod’s presentation we chose to present the ed-tech tool Mentimeter. Mentimeter is meant to help engage students in the classroom through interactive slideshows using tools such as word clouds and polls.
It is also compatible across a variety of platforms:

For our presentation, I contributed how I would use the features of Mentimeter in a Core French classroom. In particular, I used a variety of Mentimeter’s tools to create a formative assessment of a new verb tense we would be learning through overt instruction. Using mentimeter in this way makes learners an active participant in overt instruction.
Here are the examples of my slides:

The only downside of Mentimeter is you have to pay $11.99/month in order to have more than 50 participants. Therefore you would ultimately have to pay the subscription in order to use Mentimeter in more than one class per month.
In terms of learning from other peoples’ ideas in my learning pod, I like that some of our members used Mentimeter as a way for students to assess the unit or lesson they had done as a form of feedback for the teacher. This was a way of using Mentimeter I had not thought of.
